Day 1 Split to Makarska
Pucker up salty sea dogs! It’s time to kiss Split goodbye and head over the ocean for some idyllic island time. Your cabin with private ensuite bathroom on our exclusive sailing boat is waiting for you. Lull about the local markets eating fresh fruit and ogling at bunches of lavender. Stroll the sandy beaches and the long promenade, and get to know your new squad over dinner on the boat tonight. All this in the pretty town setting of Makarska nested between the sea and Mt. Biokovo. Unfathomable.
Day 2 Makarska to Korčula
Kick start your day late, with a swimming stop in a remote cove and afterward, a long lunch on deck. Next stop: Korcula, home of the famous adventurer, Marco Polo. It’s all about location with a prime position right on the water. This walled fishing village is filled with pretty buildings and has fascinating Venetian architecture, designed to protect the Old Town from wind and sun. Walk along the stone streets, past defensive towers and get a feel for this special spot. Tonight, try some locally produced white wines and get some tips from your Trip Rep on where to go for a cute, atmospheric bar that is popular with the locals.
Day 3 Korčula to Dubrovnik
Today we head to Dubrovnik, known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. With Baroque buildings, museums and monasteries, this eye-catching UNESCO World Heritage site is great to explore on foot. Get lost in the walled city’s web of winding streets. For full scale views of the area, wander along the 2km of old town walls or hike up Mt Srj. Take a moment to remember Croatia’s recent history at an open-air exhibition and war memorial. With a night off, pull up a table in the pedestrian district of the old town. Try out some fantastic seafood or spicy beef stew at one of the many local restaurants before a fun night out in this gorgeous town.
Day 4 Dubrovnik
Today, head back into the pretty city or catch some sun on one of Dubrovnik’s awesome beaches. You can also try out our optional kayak excursion around the old city walls, and get another look at this stunning city from the water. A perfect trip for exploring, head to a secluded bay for a swim.
Day 5 Dubrovnik to Trstenik
Don’t hate on us for dragging you away from Dubrovnik. We wouldn’t do it unless we knew about another paradise waiting just around the corner… It will be full blown euphoria this morning as we sail past the palms, cypresses, olive trees, citrus plantations and colourful reefs of the Elaphite Islands. As the sun sets we’ll dock at the unspoiled village of Trstenik where we can look back on the Korcula archipelago with awe. All enjoyed over an optional Captain’s dinner and a night of ship shenanigans.
Day 6 Trstenik to Hvar
Feel free to let the hum of the boat & the sway of the sea keep you in bed all morning where you can catch up on some zzz’s. Meanwhile, the captain will be heading us in the direction of the hip and happenin’ Hvar. Starting on a high note, our next port of call is the world renowned island of Hvar. Pine-covered slopes, vineyards & moored yachts make for a stunning coastline, while off board we’ll discover a charming town square, a 16th century theatre & a banquet of nightlife to tap into.
Day 7 Hvar to Split
Morning swims and a long lunch on the deck of our boat will seal our affection for Hvar and leave us craving more of the Adriatic Sea. So off we go… Split’s our last night and you’ve got this city sussed. See the 220 buildings and pretty cathedral of Diocletian’s Palace and tick off any boxes you missed the first time we were here. Then join the crew for a final dinner and get cozy with some of Split’s famous waterfront bars.
Day 8 Depart Split
There you have it, the astonishing beauty of Croatia and its cluster of islands. You probably always imagined you’d be blown away by it, but the new squad of life-long pals will be the real surprise. Round Two: Turkey & Greek Island Odyssey?
